What is People?
In the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union for R&D (FP7), specific actions aiming to increase the transnational mobility of researchers have been developped and regrouped under the programme PEOPLE-Marie Curie Actions. PEOPLE programme aims to strengthen the human potential in R&D in Europe, by stimulating people to take up the profession of a researcher, encouraging European researchers to stay in Europe, and attracting to Europe the best researchers from the entire world.
The Marie Curie Actions support training and career development for researchers taking jobs abroad (over national borders) at a prestigious organisation. PEOPLE follows a bottom-up approach, e.g. research fields are freely chosen by the applicants. Depending on the Marie Curie Action, a project should last between two and four years. The PEOPLE Work Programme 2012 will provide you with important information.
