  1. You will get an "aknowledgement of receipt" by e-mail, confirming that your proposal has been successfully submitted
  2. Keep your fingers crossed! There is nothing else you can do until you hear from the EC
  3. The EC will first check whether your proposal meets the eligibility criteria that apply to the Call
  4. External experts will then evaluate all the proposals
  5. About 3-4 months after the Call deadline, you will receive from the EC a letter giving you "intial information" on the evaluation of your proposal:
  • If your proposal is on the "main list", your project has high chances to get funded. The coordinator of your project will be invited to negotiate in Bruxelles
  • If your proposal is on the "reserve list", it might get funded if funds are still available after the negotiation phase of the projects that are on the main list
  • If your proposal is ranked on the "rejection list", you may decide to resubmit at the next Call

  1. Do your homework! Read carefully the Guide for Applicants
  2. Work with your future boss ("scientific in charge" or "coordinator") on your proposal
  3. Contact your future host institution and gather all the concrete details on your future journey there
  4. Clarify who will do what in your consortium (if a consortium is needed)
  5. Start writing your proposal early enough to submit it to external opinions. Your NCP will be happy to do some "pre screening" of your application and gives you a very heplful feedback
  6. Made yourself familiar with EPSS, the Electronic Proposal Submission Service. Proposals must be submitted electronically, via EPSS.
  7. Do not miss the Call deadline for submission! Call deadlines are absolutely firm and can not be enforced!

Before the Call is published on the Participant Portal, check out the following points:
  1. Find out which Marie Curie Action and which Call are made for you
  2. Identify in which host institution you would like to do your research project and with whom.
  3. Depending on the Marie Curie Action, you may have to build a consortium of partners. Get in touch with them!
  4. Get in touch with the National Contact Point (NCP) of your country. She or he will support you during the whole submission process
